The VFIA and the Automobile Club Virtuel (ACV) have today announced that the Virtual Endurance Championship will run in 2017 after previous trial events were successful. These races will be run in the same format as the Junior Championships in a text-based manner.

The cars will be on average 3% slower than the hybrids, but greater reliability means there is still a good chance of victory. Grand Touring (GT): The GT class consists of supercars that conform to the GT regulations set out by the ACV, and manufacturer or independent teams can race in this class: See eligible cars Sports Touring (ST): The ST class consists of sports cars a level below GT on the chain, and like GT, will accept entries from both manufacturer and independent teams: See eligible cars For 12 and 24 hour events, 3 drivers must be in each driver grouping, while shorter races can be driven using only 2 drivers. Teams can also run an extra car for certain rounds of the championship - these will be announced closer to the events.
